santa and walnuts

yes, santa is at the mall already and it's the perfect time to go...no lines. alex is sticking her tongue out but at least she's looking at the camera (in the other takes she was half smiling but always looking somewhere else, so i suppose this was the best one). she wasn't crying and screaming this year - yay. she thanked santa for jeffrey stickers and told him she wanted a kai lan doll (which we so happen to already have for her). she was being a little shy, but she sat on his lap, talked to him and waved good-bye to him also. another holiday thing that i love is mixed nuts (still in they're shell, particularly walnuts and almonds - i always ate walnuts from the shell at my grandma's house when i was little), so we bought a bag of those over the weekend. while i was eating some walnuts alex actually wanted to try them. she loved it and kept asking for more walnuts ("alnuts") the rest of the weekend. she was also loving the almonds too, so all weekend she keps asking for more "alnuts" - and we made bean and dumpling soup so alex had her more than fair share of ham yesterday, and she even tried the beans and liked them. so yay, at least she's broadening her horizons (maybe she'll eat more than chicken nuggets and fries and mac 'n' cheese sometimes).
