it's been a lot of hot weather up here, and we've been able to get to the pool every day this weekend. alex got arm swimmies and is learning to get used to them. she likes to walk laps up and down the pool and she just discovered the ladder in the deep end (all of 2 feet deep in the kids pool) and she is practicing her swimming. alex likes to do things in steps (always acting like a teacher) and "tests". so, we make up "tests" for her at the pool and as soon as she does one she wants to know what the next step/test is. she does not like to be splashed however and has been knocked down already - but that's part of getting used to a public swimming pool. she loves it at the pool and was even cheering and clapping for this little boy telling him "good job swimming under water."
