yay, it was a long weekend...finally. and the summer pool opened this weekend! saturday afternoon, we went to the berea outdoor pool for the first time. we didn't take our camera, but it's got a kids pool with waterfall and a large pool with swirly slide and diving board. alex stayed in the kids pool while we enjoyed the sun poolside. alex even made a friend already at the pool. saturday night, alex got to meet tom's two boys, owen and peter. they taught her how to play duck, duck, goose - which apparantly is a really fun game because she wanted to play over and over even though i don't think she ever understood that you were supposed to tag the person you were chasing. sunday, john had to do yard work (that's a whole side story there) so we stuck around the house and put water in the inflatable pool in the yard - which was nice anyways, it was so hot out that we wouldn't have lasted long at the public pool anyways. monday, it stormed hard so we were inside most of the day watching strawberry shortcake and phineas and ferb while i got some inside work done and john got the garden taken care of before the storms arrived.
