it's been a busy week and weekend. Alex is officially a first grader! here she is on her first day of kindergarten and her last day. she is very excited to move on to first grade but already misses her kindergarten teacher. friday night, she went to her friend elizabeth's house to celebrate her birthday. on saturday, she helped me at the post office in the morning and then cleaned up most of her stuff. and in the afternoon we went to the zoo. it was looking gloomy all day and then the sun came out just for our zoo visit. alex knew where everything was at the zoo and even helped push carter around in his stroller. she also rode the camel at the zoo! later that day she told me, "i've always wanted to ride a camel." they're so tall, i thought she might chicken out once she got on him, but nope she loved it. we all had a rough night that night because alex got overheated and dehydrated at the zoo, but by sunday morning she was doing just fine and ready to go some more. so on sunday, john and alex went fishing together and had a picnic with jeff and two of his kids, quinn and bee. she was exhausted early on sunday and had a really hard time getting up this morning for daycare.
