tea, santa and burntwood tavern

it was quite a full weekend for us. first, on thursday, alex earned her first blue tip on her green belt at taekwondo - she was thrilled. friday night, john had a work holiday party while alex and i organized all the teacher and daycare and work gifts for christmas. saturday morning we went to taekwondo. then later that day we had tea at the ritz. it was delicious as usual. the gingerbread house was beautiful and all blue this year - it's one of my favorites of all the times. alex ate more than her share of chocolate at tea and shared some gingerbread with me. on sunday, we went to tower city again to see santa at mr. kringles inventionasium. while we waited we stopped by the talking tree - which alex thought was weird at first ("what do you ask a talking tree?") and then found it quite funny when the tree sang "O' Christmas Me." then onwards to the inventionasium. we had a lovely guide with bright orange hair. alex made little gadgets and toys (she did not like the one guys fake teeth - they were "weird") and she bounced bubbles off of gloves and made snow. then she met with santa and asked him for a bigger bike. that was fun and exhausting. then we went to the burntwood tavern for dinner to celebrate Bopey's birthday and Jessica graduating. abbey and alex had a great time together (abbey brought alex a balloon sword and a tiara that she made earlier that day at a birthday party.) we were all exhausted by the end of the weekend and alex was not happy about getting up this morning and having to go to school! happy monday.
