we went for a weekend visit to cincinnati to see my dad and brother. we managed to get earlier than normal on friday, which was nice so we could be there for dinner. saturday, we went to kings island. it's great that this year alex will ride pretty much everything (the only thing she really hasn't ridden is a couple at cedar point like the top thrill dragster, but i haven't ridden that yet either.) we rode all the major coasters and had a lot of fun. my brother joined us, too. we all loved the diamondback, mystic timbers and a couple others. kings island has some different coasters like this one where you go on your stomach and back (john and i liked that one and alex hated it) and an indoor one in the dark where you go really fast and do lots of loops. alex and i even got some classic kings island blue ice cream with sprinkles (it's soft serve blueberry ice cream and appears to be unique to kings island.) my brother gave us a few reds giveaway items that are really cool like an exclusive pop vinyl and garden gnome. and my dad gave alex a neat chess set; she already downloaded an app to learn how to play.
