GEMS, aunt Mimi, and Les Miserables

GEMS started this week: Girls in Engineering, Math and Science. It was just the first meeting, but she seemed to enjoy herself. she did have more homework than usual this week, but i think it just seemed that way because it was a lot of writing. saturday, alex had coding class as usual - it sounds like she's doing well and learning stuff. john, mimi and i went out to lunch while alex learned. after class, on our way to drop off mimi, we stopped at the cleveland script sign (the edgewater one) to take a couple of quick pictures (yes, i need to photoshop out that guy with the camera in the background who is inexplicable taking pictures of a couple facing away from the lake.) we had a big family dinner that night with all the kids and (almost) all the grandkids in attendance. sunday, alex and i went to see les mis. it was wonderful. we didn't get our chandelier selfie like we usually do because it was raining before and after the show and we didn't feel like running out in the freezing rain for that shot. they were all decorated for christmas though which was nice to see.
