i've been sick and alex has been fighting it - i think she's losing that battle but she didn't want to miss school today (dance class monday and crazy hat day) so i filled her up with meds and sent her off; we'll see if she lasts all day. i found this great idea to convert her old crib into an art center, so john did that this weekend and alex loves it. the desk itself if painted with chalkboard paint and there's a magnet board and hooks for her scissors and such and plenty of room for her markers and crayons and chalk and stamps and such. we almost didn't go, but we did make it to the pool briefly yesterday. it was night and day compared to the weekend before - alex did sooooo much better. she was kicking her legs and blowing bubbles and let me walk around the pool with her and we even swam all the way to the deep end wall (which was difficult since she wouldn't hold onto me piggy back style.) and she even proceeded to tell some older man swimming about how she's not scared of the water anymore. john also fixed alex's princess car yesterday so they went on a very short walk/ride with the car.
