well, we have had some really cold temperatures and lots of snow. alex missed a couple days of school already because of the cold temps and i'm guessing she might miss a couple more this week. she has been asking for quite some time to take karate classes; i didn't find karate but she took a trial class of tae kwon do and "loved it" so she is officially a white belt of tae kwon do. drums is still up in the air; not enough kids signed up for it but they really want to keep the class so they've left registration open extra long, so we shall see. for christmas, santa brought alex a beginner sewing machine. we finally got that out yesterday and with some scrap fabric, alex sewed and stuffed her first pillow. she says she's going to be a fashion designer; she also says she's going to be a vet (most popular answer of hers) and a teacher and a photographer and an artist and a mommy of 3! because of the cold and heavy snow we really didn't go anywhere this weekend, so we sewed and ironed and put together stuff and alex played and we cooked and made soft pretzels and watched movies. she is at school today, but we'll see about tomorrow with a projected high temp of -4? brrrrrr.
