holiday weekend
yay, we had a long weekend. we started off the long weekend with the three of us going out to hibachi (this was our 15 year anniversary celebration dinner - we didn't make it out on our actual anniversary because of my back so this was our make-up date.) i wasn't sure if alex would like the food or what - she is a little picky - but she loved it! and i mean loved it. i have never seen her eat noodles that happily before. and she enjoyed the rice with the yum yum sauce (shrimp sauce) and even talked about opening up her own restaurant named yum yum sauce, haha. she ordered the steak hibachi (of course) and at sooo much and took home her leftovers. she didn't want to do it at first but she even tried catching some shrimp in her mouth from the chef and she enjoyed the onion volcano (even though she could feel the heat from the flames.) oh and the most surprising was that she loved the soup! on the fourth, we had everyone over for a cookout and the falls parade. the kids seemed to have fun and they got to catch a lot of candy. later that night we hung around home and had a spectacular fireworks display we could see from the front yard. we did some sparklers and those snaps that you throw on the ground. we couldn't see the official falls bicentennial fireworks well from the house, but there were a couple of houses in the neighborhood with an impressive fireworks display (and we didn't have to sit in traffic to get home at the end of the night.)
