playdate, carter's bday, and mary poppins

it was a pretty full weekend. friday, alex had a playdate over at emma's house. they have so much fun together. saturday, alex had her soccer game. then later that day we went to carter's birthday party. alex and i couldn't stay for the whole party because we had tickets for mary poppins. we got to see carter open all his presents and alex inhaled two hot dogs real quick and we had to go. mary poppins was great - alex's musical theater teacher played the role of bert - he did a great job. on sunday the rain cleared up just long enough for us to set up the backyard pool. it was nice hanging outside - can't wait for more summer.
