we had a full week and weekend. in the middle of the week we spent a couple of days remembering uncle fred. it was nice to see relatives and friends that we haven't seen in a while. alex really liked seeing all the pictures and the wood carvings that fred made. then alex had extra practices this week to prepare for her taekwondo tournament. she still has practicing to do, but any experience in a tournament is good. on saturday, alex started off with taekwondo class, then straight to her soccer game and lunch out with cousin abbey and fam. alex did well in her game; she went after the ball aggressively and when she was tripped a couple of times she got right back up and kept going. saturday night was the season premiere of doctor who and alex was tasked with cleaning up some of her mess around the place. sunday we tried to get some stuff done before going over to bopey and norm's for dinner before they head back up to canada. we got a little cooking done and a bit more cleaning and even got out the halloween decorations. i still need to finish up alex's halloween costume, but i'm close to done so hopefully finishing won't be a problem.
