Alex had her second taekwondo tournament this weekend. this one was hosted by the dojo where she goes. she did great. her two main events were forms and breaking: she got a silver in forms and a gold in breaking. her breaking was fantastic - i was nervous about that one because she didn't get to practice much, but she nailed it. her festival events were ninja stars and fast kicks: she got a silver and a bronze in the ninja stars and a gold in fast kicks, plus the grand champion in her age group for fast kicks - i believe she got 54 kicks in a minute. john and i helped set up and clean up, helped with check-in, ran the concession stand and john worked some festival events. grandpa jerry and uncle john came in for the weekend as well. they got to see the entire tournament. we also went to some fun eateries like the macaroni grill and the rail (our hibachi place has closed down sadly.) and now that the tournament is done, alex needs to focus on getting ready for her brown belt test!
