we are always busy and with it getting close to the holidays we're even busier. luckily alex wanted to help at this weekend's belt test. that kept her out of the house for about 3 hours which gave me time to wrap presents! wrap for both her birthday and for christmas. that is a huge accomplishment to get that out of the way. we got a ton of other stuff done too, with the shed wood and the outside icicle lights and cleaning and cooking and such. alex did some crafting (she's getting better at her crafts and taking her time to do a nice job - which is great.) she also entered her korean terms for her next belt test into her quizlet app and she even worked with john to write her paper for her next belt test. alex also wanted to help cook and cut things in the kitchen. we had a ham from our fresh fork and some beans so i made them bean and dumpling soup (and showed alex a little of how to make it.) i also made my first pie this weekend: chocolate pecan pie. i made potato and leek soup and we cooked chicken, acorn squash and carrots. alex helped with bits along the way and she was proud to wear the adult sized starbucks apron (she's outgrown the kid sized aprons she had and we love the starbucks aprons from aunt jess.)
