pretty exciting week for alex. first of all, she found out that she got placed in advanced english lit! and her last day of school was thursday, so she is officially on summer break and officially a sixth grader! she'll be in the middle school next year and she found out she has summer reading requirements and that she's likely to have a ton of homework next year. this weekend we got the pool filled. the weather wasn't awesome for it, but it's full and warming up for sunnier days. sunday, john had graduation so alex and i joined bopey and aunt lani for lunch at a new place we haven't tried. it was quite tasty and we got caught in the rain so alex got a bonus dessert that she wasn't planning on ordering. yesterday, alex said to me "i was thinking about piercing my ears." and i said "i was just going to suggest that!" haha, so i took her up to the mall (well, i tried taking her to a tattoo and piercing place, but she was too young) and she got her ears pierced. she didn't even flinch and they look super cute.
