alex had a fun weekend. she's getting so big. first on friday, we went to a clam bake for john's school. alex just had to bring a banana with her and then proceed to show and tell everyone that she had her banana (at least she wasn't being shy). she wouldn't try any clams but she ate 2 ears of corn on the cob, a hot dog and her banana and then cheered me on to eat more clams. she met (well, met again - the last time they met they were probably less than 1) Maggie - the cute little girl in the picture. they played together on the playground at the party and then we invited Maggie and her little brother and daddy over for a playdate on sunday (we invited her mom too but she was out of town). they had fun playing together on the jungle gym, balance beam and with all of alex's dolls. they also did a good job eating their lunch. it's funny listening to 2 years talk but one of the funniest things was when alex was trying to move the dollhouse (and couldn't, it's too heavy) and maggie said "I moved it for you, honey" and alex replied with "i don't think we have any honey". first of all, that's too funny a 2 year old calling someone honey, and then alex's reply - why would she even know if we had honey or not, let alone what honey is - although i guess cartoons like winnie the pooh probably explain what honey is.
