gardening

it's official, we are taking a break from gymnastics. alex said that she doesn't want to do it and she wants to stop for now. that's ok, we'll ask her again in the fall when they have registration if she's interested in starting back up. in the meantime, since she's not old enough to do soccer yet we're going to look into karate class at school. she still seems to be very into her dance class though, and likes to practice at home. another thing we know alex loooooves...is gardening! yes, she loves to help john water the plants and all and it was time for him to plant some starts inside (since there should still be one last snow or frost of the season) and alex wanted to help. she got some dora gardening gloves, garden shovel and watering can. she also enjoys meticulously pruning the lime tree. i think she has a green thumb just like her dad (definitely not at all like her mom). and we've discovered that alex very much enjoys retro cartoons from our childhood, especially scooby doo (she keeps calling him scooby doop though)!
