chocolate dipped in chocolate

so, it was a long week (in a series of long weeks) - for those who don't know already we had to put our dog, kaya, to sleep this week :( she was getting old and aggressive - it was the right thing to do, but she is terribly missed and we're all very saddened to not have kaya with us anymore. alex took the news rather rough, but it's getting easier each day.
in fact, because it was such a hard week, john and alex had a fun daddy daughter day on friday! they went to play putt-putt and then ice-cream afterwards - of course, alex got a chocolate ice-cream cone dipped in chocolate! we also had a camp out in the family room again (too hot and rainy outside) and alex assisted me in my attempt to make soap (it didn't go according to plan). while i was at the phone store (yes, apparantly spilling nail polish remover on your phone is not a good thing) alex tried on her recital outfit and was busting a few moves for the camera.
