the hayride and pumpkin patch

it was an odd weekend with lonnie away on "vacation" and we really don't know much. his numbers are down but he's winning over fans says the doctor. so we're waiting to see and thinking of lonnie. so we kept ourselves busy this weekend. first, alex went upside down on the bars and didn't panic and let go at gymnastics! that was a big step for her. then on sunday we went to the rockin' r ranch pumpkin festival. alex got to pet all sorts of animals, including calfs, goats, bunnies and rats (yes, rats!). she went for a pony ride, got her face painted (which she quickly rubbed with the back of her hand and got black paint all over her hands), went thru a fun house, watched a bad show that she really enjoyed, and best of all (according to her) was the hayride down to the pumpkin patch where she picked out her perfect pumpkin. it turned out to be a sunny day that was ideal for pumpkin picking.
