fall soccer season began and alex had her first game on saturday. apparantly if you want rain just put alex on your soccer team and it's practically a sure thing. we really didn't think they'd still have a game considering the rain and thunder and the fields were getting torn up, not to mention they're preschoolers. but i guess they still play in the rain. most kids had fun playing in the rain and the mud, but of course alex likes to be clean so she was a bit more timid about it than others. she did enjoy herself but you could see her face when taking her turn as goalie that she did not like her hands being dirty from the ball. she did a great job running after the ball and got a few good kicks in - but needs to learn to keep after the ball. and she was wearing non-cleat soccer shoes which did not help her at all in the muddy rain. so after the game we headed out to get her cleats and she's been practicing in them ever since. her team name is the lions and they're blue (nice color coordination). and today, dance class starts up again - yay. back in the swing of things.
