alex got to do a whole bunch of fun stuff this weekend. john had about 12 hours worth of grading to do over the weekend so we tried to get out the house and give him some quiet to do his work. saturday, soccer was cancelled because the fields were a swamp and more rain was expected even though it turned out to be a beautiful day. so alex and i went to swings 'n' things. i had a bunch of coins that i got from our company event there so we played tons of games - won enough tickets for a pom pom set with ribbon stick. she played a ton in the tube and slide area - she went down the big tube spiral slide that she was too scared to try last time and she loved it and spent the rest of the time just going down that slide over and over again. we had lunch there and alex got a giant chocolate ice-cream (which i hear is really good, it's homemade ice-cream). and we went for a round on the go carts. they have those two seater cars so she could ride as my passenger and she absolutely loved it. then sunday we tried to stay out of the house again so john could get more done so we went to the memphis kiddie park. we ran into someone i know from work there and she has a daughter is just 2 days older than alex - so the two girls had a lot of fun riding rides together. which made alex a little braver and she even rode the roller coaster all by herself. we followed up the kiddie park with lunch at steak and shake since we were nearby where alex enjoyed her chef hat, paper car to build, her grilled cheese and chocolate milk shake. and after we finished lunch we went over to the candy store! wow.
