so, my posts have been mia for a couple of weeks but that's because of holiday break! alex is finally back to school today and she could not be happier. she had a great vacay but misses her friends and loves school. plus today she got to bring in cupcakes and goody bags. holiday was great and exhausting and got us all off schedule and will be uber crabby the rest of the week :) if not longer. alex got so much great stuff for christmas and her birthday its hard to remember it all. the most notable of notables are the car (which she's only had an opportunity to try once because of the weather, but was giggling like crazy while driving and absolutely loved it), her big girl roller skates (which she has tried several times in the hallways of the house and is getting more used to unassisted skating), her karaoke machine (which we've been rocking out to daily - it hooks up through the tv for larger, and louder, than life action), her dancing game (it goes on the ps3 and you dance along to your favorite songs - alex loves it and it's entertaining to watch her dance), babies curly and shirley, the chipmunks and chipettes, the double stroller, her money (and coin collecting book), fijit (not sure how to spell that, his current name is green-dancer), her nail polish, body tattoo pens (which we've discovered work on all skin parts including the palm of your hand, but good thing they clean up easily), barbie vet set, perfection, hungry hippos, game of life, happy nappers, lamby (that's his name, lamby), spongebob chia pet, hello kitty game, stickers, and geez countless others. we haven't even gotten to everything yet! alex really enjoyed her birthday party and said it was the best party ever (of course that night when she was exhausted and didn't want the day to end she was telling me it was the worst day ever.) on her actual birthday she wanted to go to swings 'n' things. we had the place to ourselves for an hour or so and paid for free play of everything. we even had her birthday lunch there - hot dog! over break we also went to see the new alvin and the chipmunks movie - even though she loves movies and the popcorn this is the first one that she hasn't gotten antsy before it's over. and there was lots of cooking and cleaning over break - and alex is a really good helper with all of that. oh right, and now alex is officially 5!
