we had a fun long weekend, and now alex gets to be on spring break. of course her break starts with a doctor visit this morning which she is already trying to talk john into skipping. we started out the weekend with coloring eggs. alex did almost everything by herself - she put the eggs in the cups and carefully took them out and onto the drying paper. she also added some stickers and stamped on them (which turned out really cute.) this weekend was also alex's first trip to IHOP. she kept mentioning how she wanted to go out to breakfast with me and she loves syrup so john suggested the international house of pancakes. she enjoyed it, she didn't like the strawberry syrup but the rest were all good, although she was really enjoying her chocolate chip pancakes as is. we made sure the leave out a plate full of carrots on saturday night for the easter bunny (which john apparantly got with the mower! oops.) then sunday morning, alex found a lot of eggs and her basket which included a kids' sewing machine (she used it too, and it's really cute, but we need to practice more to get the tension right), a new strawberry shortcake dvd, some play-doh, cupcake lip gloss, and squinkies. later at easter no.2 alex found lots of money in the hidden eggs at bopey and normy-norms and another basket which included a big puzzle, bubbles, pea shaped chocolates, and a pizza garden. she did get some chocolate too from the easter bunny :) happy easter.
