we're keeping busy with soccer and theater and school and homework and other activities. we had soccer again this weekend, alex is doing fairly well, getting in there and kicking the ball. she also went to swings 'n' things this weekend with some of her friends - she had fun there and came home with some colorful jelly bracelets as her prize. on sunday, alex and i went to see finding nemo in 3d. they did a nice job, alex said she enjoyed it although she was antsy for most of it. the animated short was really cute beforehand too. and of course alex ate a ton of popcorn at the theatre (the real reason she enjoys going.) then we worked on her homework and reading. her homework was flash card words, and i was really impressed with how many of the words alex already recognized right away: like "the" and "orange" and i can't remember what else, but most of the colors she knew and she could sound out most of the rest of the words.
