Alex had her first week of first grade! her teacher is Mrs. Burk and Alex already knew a few of the kids in her class. and she has seen quite a number of her other friends around the school. she has a desk now and lunch time and recess and will have homework every week night starting today! after her first day of school, Alex said that it was "great" and "awesome". and she still goes to daycare in the morning and after school so she gets to see her other bff's sophie and mercedes. then on friday, Alex lost her first tooth! when she woke up friday morning her mouth was full of blood, but she was still unwilling to pull it out. but that didn't last long because while eating breakfast it fell out. she put the tooth in her tooth fairy pillow (it's a tooth with wings and tube socks that has a backpack on where you put the teeth. The tooth fairy came that night and left Alex a card with a nice congrats message, some fairy dust and $1. and her adult tooth has already broken thru and working it's way in. Then this weekend, we went to Aunt Sarah's and Carter's neighborhood pool. Alex did such a great job - she is becoming more comfortable with the water every time. she didn't even use her floaties this time and spent a lot of time practicing putting her head in the water and blowing bubbles and a little bit of full swimming with my aide. she is really improving - yay! on sunday, alex had a playdate with her friend abby - whom she first met on her first soccer team and is now in her first grade classroom. alex had a great time over there and didn't want to leave - and of course, had too much sugar! happy second week of school for Alex and happy first week with students back for John.
