drum lessons, soccer game, parties and rainbow loom bracelets
we've been busy, busy, busy. alex aced her spelling test again and had another good week of school which included a spirit day. she is still adjusting to the full day schedule plus homework every night - it's a long day. friday night was alex's first drum lesson - she was thrilled and they learned the different drums and cymbals and how to hold her sticks. she wants a full drum kit already - she said it would make practicing so much easier. then saturday was her first soccer game of the fall season (and since her first practice should have landed on a holiday she met her team and coach at her game.) i wasn't able to make it to the game, but john said she did a great job. i guess it's a bigger field now, all girls, and not enough people to sub out. we had the bachelorette party on saturday as well which started at the spa and then ended up at home for dinner and a movie. alex was very helpful and polite and social. she stayed up for the entire movie: which was shocking considering she was exhausted from soccer and then the movie went well past her bedtime. on sunday, i gave alex a surprise for being so nice and helpful and cleaning up all her stuff and so forth; a rainbow loom. that's the new thing now for the girls; it's a loom to make rubber band bracelets. alex picked it up right away and spent almost the entire day on sunday making bracelets (and even this morning before leaving for school!) it was an exhausting weekend, in fact i fell asleep before alex did last night :)
