the wedding weekend

it was a busy, fun-filled weekend of wedding festivities. rehearsal dinner was lovely; even though alex and i along with mary, jessica and abbey missed the actual rehearsal (my fault; well, train and construction and traffic's fault)! and at the dinner someone got the cutest picture of carter, abbey and alex all at the piano (which we got reprimanded for letting the kids play with, but worth it for the awesome photo.) saturday, alex and i picked up sarah nice and early to get her to the country club. the suite we had all day to get ready in was amazing. what a great venue the club is - i didn't realize before how big that place is. the girls were great hanging in there all day and getting their hair done (alex got a manicure with the other bridesmaids on friday.) everyone fit into their dresses, the hair flowers looked great; look how great alex's hair turned out. carter, abbey and alex all went down the aisle - yay. pictures were really cold, haha, but i can't wait to see them. alex is so wonderfully independent now too, which was so nice since i had my particular duties at the wedding - i could feel comfortable doing things and checking in with alex every so often and she was always doing well. i got so many compliments on alex's manners and behavior and how beautiful she is. dinner was great; alex chowed her burger, ate more fries than i've ever seen her eat, and ate some of my steak. i saw her practically inhaling her piece of cake (probably so that no one would tell her that's enough before she ate it all.) then she danced hard on the dance floor - she was practically breakdancing (i cannot wait to see those photos - i tried to get a couple, but it was too dark.) then she chugged a bunch of water and got sick! haha, she was so sweet though; she made it all the way upstairs to the sweet before getting sick and then didn't want me to tell anyone because it was the wedding day and she didn't want to ruin anything. it was a beautiful wedding and i think everything turned out wonderfully. then on sunday was the brunch; which was fantastic. we were all exhausted but the food spread was awesome and i got to have some bagel and lox - yummy. and now to play catch up...on sleep :)
