rainy weekend

it ended up being a rainy weekend so we missed out on some stuff but we also got some other things accomplished. friday night was drum lessons; her teacher said she did a really great job this week, and even though she missed last week she picked up everything she missed easily. then right after drums we headed to the minute clinic for alex's flu shot. best time to go i guess, we were done within 15 minutes, the nurse was really nice and alex did well. she clenched like crazy when getting the shot, but then it was done and she was over it. saturday was alex's soccer game and we were in charge of the snacks. it was drizzling at the beginning of the game and we did not have enough girls for sub outs. the rain just got worse and worse throughout the game until finally during the second half it thundered and was really pouring rain so everyone went running - while john and alex handed out juice boxes and snacks. it rained the rest of the day so we couldn't go out to the pumpkin festival or anything, but we replaced that with yummy mexican food. on sunday alex was being extra creative: she made a dress for her giant care bear out of duct tape and paper - i was really impressed with the fact that she made a pattern and actually constructed this garment all by herself; she also learned how to make two new things on her rainbow loom. alex also got to play with abbey on sunday, because they came over to pick up abbey's flower girl dress.
