carving pumpkins and crafting

back at drums this week and recovering from being sick. i don't know where our weekends go when you don't have soccer games and such, but they are just as busy it seems. we were able to fit in a nice lunch with aunt lani before she went back to texas. and we carved one of the three pumpkins we got at the festival. alex wanted to paint on the butt shaped pumpkin and she did a fabulous job with that and adding glitter and scary eyebrows. and we were going to carve the other two, but one was already rotting at the bottom so we just carved the one (which is just fine with me; carving pumpkins gets old really fast.) alex picked out the scooby doo face as her favorite, so that's what we did. i also made lonnie a scooby doo tag as his halloween costume, so i'm betting that's why the carving is scooby themed as well. then alex and i both worked on several craft projects each. she spent a lot of time yesterday on her needlepoint dog - she's actually almost done with it! (it's not a conventional way of needlepointing, but it's fun and she likes so that's what is important.)
