it was a busy weekend of getting things done and nicer weather and things. first of all, john found out about his job...he got it! he is now an assistant principal - wow! we're so proud of him. he's big time now. that was a super great way to start the weekend; and for john, starting his spring break. today he gets the joy of going to the dentist and then he's bring mcdonald's to alex and having lunch with her at her school - yay, she's so excited. so the weather is finally nice enough to play outside - even though the yard is still a muddy mess (lonnie made sure to prove that by running thru the big mud water ponds and therefore getting hosed down. saturday, alex earned her 2nd tip on her white belt. next she needs to practice and she should be taking her belt test by the end of the month. then she was back at tae qwon do for dominic's birthday party that afternoon. she had fun at that; they played lots of games and ran around and such. then john and alex went down to rocky river for a fishing and picnic get together with john's friend and his kids. alex had a great time at that, they grilled out and got muddy, and collected rocks and shells. sunday, we had to run out and get alex some gym shoes and soccer cleats (yes, soccer starts this week.) we also moved the caterpillars to their butterfly net; painted some of the penguin; made a banner for the penguin; played with legos; and laundry and so forth. busy weekend, but fun.
