last weekend of summer, clambake, and kiddie park
it was the last weekend of summer, but it mostly feels like fall already. although saturdays weather was lovely. friday night, alex and i made a dessert to bring to saturday's clam bake for john's school. we made buckeye brownie cookies; pretty good. saturday, we started off at taekwondo, then almost straight to her soccer game. she did well again at soccer, but no goals yet for her. she may have assisted in a goal or two, but hard to tell. then saturday night was the clam bake. it was held by the school board president at his house on the lake. it was beautiful out and so nice to be right by the lake like that to enjoy some clams. there was a band there too, so alex enjoyed a little dancing in the open lawn. alex tried the clams and the yams; she did like the yam once she added some salt, but she did not like the clams (so i got two bags of clams to myself!) and then she ate her fill of desserts. sunday, on a whim, we decided it was a good day to use up our kiddie park tickets before the season was completely gone. alex is so tall it is looking like this might be the last year that she's short enough to ride anything at the kiddie park.
