ag groundbreaking, a new cat, and oktoberfest

second grade is starting off well for alex. she enjoys her teacher and homework is getting started. she had taekwondo all week, and this week starts soccer and theater as well! busy busy busy. last week, ag had it's groundbreaking ceremony and alex went with me. she got a balloon dog, her picture taken with several characters and her face painted. there was also food and dessert food trucks - we shared the powdered donuts (which were delicious) and she had a triple chocolate cupcake. so after she was filled with sugar we went to taekwondo with her face still painted with a sparkly rainbow. on saturday, we adopted a new kitten! alex wanted an all white cat - we got the whitest cat there was (well, his brother was pretty close, but alex chose Blizzard - formerly known as raisin.) Blizzard is really good at hiding, but then he comes out at night ready to go and get lots of attention. and on monday we all went to oktoberfest. we went early so that i could run in the 5k - yay for me. then we ate, enjoyed some weiner dog races, alex bounced in some bungee thing and bouncy houses, and she finished off with ice-cream. and we jump into a full week of activities starting with soccer starting tonight.
