'tis the season

the cold weather and the snow have arrived. and i'm wishing i lived in florida and was a stay-at-home mom. i hate driving in this mess, but the trees are all pretty covered in snow. well, it is that season to start getting things prepped for the holidays and art shows and birthdays and all that jazz. saturday, alex and i went to see the wizard of oz at the olmsted falls performing arts. we had second row seats. it was a fun show - they do a nice job there. alex got to see her friends in the show. and toto was cute; real dog that followed dorothy around most of the time or just sat there politely while they sang and danced around him. and alex and i enjoyed some candy goodies during the show - she tried her first swedish fish and loved it - she also ate an entire box of butterfinger bites. after the show we went to cousin abbey's birthday dinner. and of course alex had more sugar there with a piece of birthday cake. she did eat all her dinner though and tried a little bit of spinach salad. on sunday, we set up the christmas tree! yes, it's before thanksgiving and all, but with our schedule you have to set up stuff when the time is available. the tree looks great and lonnie and blizzard had a great time hanging out while we decorated. blizz especially loved the tree and the garland and the lights and playing with the ornaments and hiding and general troublemaking.
