happy halloween weekend
we had a full weekend of fun activities after a full week of activities - it is that time of year. alex was dressed up as elsa this year, from frozen. i had made snowflake hairpins and gave her a braid and parkle hairspray. her costume was beautiful - even if it did litter glitter everywhere she went. alex had her halloween parade at second grade and a halloween party at daycare on friday. friday night, we went over to uncle matt and aunt sarah's to go trick-or-treating in their neighborhood with carter (superman.) it was raining, but they still managed to get a good candy load. alex and carter had fun being together. on saturday, we went to Castaway Bay with sarah, matthew, carter, jessica and abbey (and the three of us.) it's an indoor water park that john got passes to visit. we had a blast! they have great slides there and a good range of areas that all the kids were happy and active and totally exhausted. we enjoyed lunch together and back home. we had our trick-or-treating in the falls on saturday night. we were exhausted from the waterpark, but alex still fully dressed up and john took her up and down the street for candy. she then spent the rest of trick-or-treating handing out candy at our house. it was cold and sleeting/snowing on saturday night. then sunday was spend cleaning up halloween and laundry and all that fun stuff that has to get done. alex is also "star of the week" at second grade. so this weekend she brought home the school "pet" which is a stuffed dog named Buckeye. so she took pictures of him all weekend and wrote a journal entry of what they did.
