easter weekend
Easter weekend, and the end to Alex's spring break. back to homework and reading and all that jazz this week. she still went to daycare all week, so it wasn't that different for her except for more open play time. on good friday, alex and i went to artist for a day. we had a gift from uncle matt and aunt sarah that we haven't had time to use yet. we had a fun time; it took several hours and they were busier than i thought, but i would definitely do that again. alex made a splash bowl and a unicorn and i made a bart simpson pencil holder. they'll be ready to pick up next weekend; i can't wait to see them all finished and shiny. on saturday, alex and i chased all around town to find some peeps! i couldn't believe so many places were completely out of peeps, but i supposed it was last minute before easter. we finally found some and made some delicious multi-colored peeps rice krispies treats. i also made spaghetti from scratch, which turned out yummy as well. friday night we went to a monsters hockey game. alex was so tired (after painting at artist for a day for hours) that we left after the second period; we were so far ahead that we thought the game was all but over. i couldn't believe it when i saw the final score the next day - they actually lost in overtime. and sunday was easter. alex wrote a card for the easter bunny asking him/her to hide the eggs harder - it was apparantly too easy for her the year before - and she left the bunny some carrots. well, the easter bunny hid 63 eggs and alex sure had a harder time finding them all. she also got a basket full of fun stuff and crafts. oh, on saturday, john participated in the barbie rod tournament that benefited the cleveland metroparks. that meant he had to catch a steelhead on a children's fishing rod - his was a fancy light up iron man one. well, he actually caught a fish on that and placed 3rd! sunday evening, john and alex went over to bopey and norm's for easter dinner (i stayed home not feeling well and not wanted to spread any germs to anyone else.) i guess they had fun, found more eggs, more baskets, and alex tried an egg yolk and brussel sprouts!
