it was a full weekend for us. alex had her usual busy schedule all week while also trying to study her korean terms every night and earning pokemon cards. friday night was alex's school carnival. it was cute, she had fun. i remember school carnivals being a little better than that one, but then again i may be glorifying the memory. she got prizes at all the stops (the games were set up in the classrooms with little carnival prizes and raffle tickets to silly string the principal.) and she did the cupcake walk where she won and wanted to keep going so she could "win you a cupcake, mom" haha, sure. then on saturday morning was alex's belt test - i shouldn't really say morning, we were there for 4 hours! she did great and earned her blue-black belt. she's very proud of herself and the belt is nice, it's blue with a black stripe down the middle. we took john out to lunch for his birthday, got him a new reel and he ran off to fish for a bit. after he was done fishing we gave john him birthday present from alex and i: a gopro camera with accessories. and sunday we got cleaning and stuff done then went to bopey and normy-norm's to celebrate john's birthday there. that was delicious and alex always enjoys hanging out with all her cousins. and today, back to school and work, and happy 40th birthday to John!
