take your kids to work days
alex had an eventful week of sorts. it was the first week of summer camp - although she missed her field trip on account of going to work. soccer and theater are both done so it's full time taekwondo and summer camp now. on wednesday, it was take your kids to work day at american greetings. you have to be at least 8 years old to go so it was alex's first year. they're allowed to sign up for two workshops plus there were other activities. i signed alex up for project runway gift wrap workshop: she made a big balloon hat with a fox plate mask and cat stickers and crazy ribbon all over it! it was really creative. at the end of that workshop they paraded around the 3rd floor. then she had to hurry over to her next workshop which was a drawing class. she loved both her workshops and was up there drawing like crazy in class. at lunchtime she got her face painted and stood in front of the green screen for this awesome laser cat picture. she also posed with the ninja and a care bear. then in the afternoon there was a magician. she loved the magician - he was pretty good (although he could have been friendlier after if he really wanted people to book him for birthday parties), but he had some good tricks. and finally alex had to finish off the day by going to a meeting with me, where she was extremely bored and played on her ipad the entire time, haha. on friday, she went to work with john! it was the last day of school for students and there was church, awards and a grill out. it sounds like alex ate an extreme amount of food and made plenty of friends. over the weekend we got some pool time in, fun time with carter and connor, taekwondo, and cleaning and a little prepping for canada.
