graduated to an advanced belt

alex had her belt test this weekend. she did great. she spent every night all week studying her korean terms and went to as many practices as possible to prepare. and she did it - she is now an advanced rank as a brown belt. she had a difficult board break this test: crescent kick. she nailed it. she also is excited that she's moving up to the 4 minute subtraction math tests - they move to shorter test times as they get better. and she got a certificate and lollipop from kidsfirst (her daycare) for having good study/homework habits after school. we all got a good amount done this weekend. john had to work homecoming saturday night while alex and i watched Star Wars on the big theater projector. she picked back up her circular loom knitting and made 2 hats and has started on arm warmers. she wants to learn how to crochet next. she also cleaned up some of her desk areas. john and i got some stuff done around the house and made some delicious food - including some of the salmon he caught on his birthday fishing trip. it was yummy - alex went back for seconds on the salmon.
