star wars in imax 70mm

it was a relatively normal, busy week for us. john is super busy at work, being there late pretty much every day. alex is having fun in jump rope club and guitar is going well. she has been working for some time to get her tip on her red belt and this week she did it! she was so happy. red belt is a review belt plus some new stuff, so she has to know everything from white belt up. that's a lot of stuff. she's thrilled to have that belt tip and to start learning her new form. friday night we were busy getting an estimate on our garage door :( we knew it was in bad shape, but weren't quite aware that it is as dangerous as it is. so alas we are getting a whole new system and door. Saturday, John had to start the day at work while alex and i went to taekwondo. but saturday night, we all went to go see Star Wars at the iMax theater in the Science Center on 70mm film. Alex has never been to that theater and there's only 20 theaters worldwide showing Star Wars in this format. we had good seats, but should have gotten there earlier for better seats - there was a huge line already when we got there and we were early. but it was great fun to see it like that and when we left they had bb-8 projected on the outside of the dome, which was really neat. and now it's monday and we're all exhausted - time change doesn't help. i just got a text from alex's teacher...she greeted him this morning with this, "I hate Mondays. Mondays in the real world are like that song "Manic Monday." haha
