1st trip of the season to cedar point

it was alex's first week at "summer camp" which is really full day daycare at her usual place with field trips added. i think the field trips actually start this week since some kids were still in school last week. we had the normal stuff this week: taekwondo, guitar and soccer. alex did great in the game, even though her team got creamed. she scored a goal and did a great job as goalie - blocked some hard ones. from the soccer game she went straight to her friend's birthday party/pool party. she had a great time there and we finished off saturday with a lovely dinner at her cousins' house. sunday, john had to work graduation all day so alex and i decided to go to cedar point. we have season passes this year and the weather was looking iffy which is a great chance for low attendance. it was sunny and hot and there were no lines anywhere. we had a great time, but pushed it one ride too long. we headed for the car as it began to drizzle, which turned into a full on downpour by the time we got to the entrance of the park. we decided to make a run for the car and halfway there it decided to start hailing on us with horrible winds. we made it to the car and drove home completely soaking wet! we had to take a long way home too because some downed power lines cut off the straight way out. but we got out of there safe and plan to always keep fresh clothes in the car from now on.
