Memorial Day weekend and summer break
alex is officially a fourth grader now! she had her last day of school on friday. we also found out that alex got into the new advanced math program for fourth graders! it's a new program that they're starting and only about 15% of the students get in - we are so proud of her and she is so excited. and we got to follow all this fun up with a long weekend. john went up to canada to help open the cabin - get things ready and fix things and do lots of work. so alex and i mostly had a girls' weekend. she is still getting over a bad cold and cough that just won't go away. so saturday at her soccer game she had absolutely no energy. she was in goal most of the time because of it, but when she did play forward (her normal position) she barely moved, so back in goal she went. we still had a fun weekend. we ordered pizza and went to Dave and Busters - and the Ghostbusters were there. alex has never been there before so we had fun playing the games and she picked out some fun prizes. on sunday, we went to go see x-men in 3d. we enjoyed the movie and our snacks. we made soft pretzels at home and watched some harry potter. then john got home in time for memorial day. we went and watched the parade - it lasted 5 minutes, haha. obviously not the big parade, but she got to see some of her friends and we rode our bikes up there and back. then we got some stuff done, hung out in the backyard pool and grilled some delicious dinner. and today she starts summer camp.
