canada!
we just finished our annual vacation at the cabin. we didn't go quite as long this year as we have in the past, but it worked out well. we had wonderful weather with barely any rain. it was windy, but hot. we were able to have beach time almost every single day with lots of lake swimming. alex had brought some of her pot holders that she makes to bopey at the bakery (bopey had ordered 6 from alex) and virginia (the bakery owner) saw them; asked if she could buy them and sell them in her bakery; and how many more could alex make while on vacation! so alex made 10 more potholders and made her first real payday! she bought herself a Parry Sound hat with the money and the rest is going into her savings. several people bought pot holders and hopefully the rest will sell. alex also did some other crafts and reading and plenty of hanging in the lake and frog/toad catching and paddle boating and canoeing. john went fishing when he could, but it was windy which makes it that much harder to catch anything. alex named her seagull friends: Cedric and Sally (i think); and there were some friends that visited that she also named, but I can't remember their names. Alex would fish for some rock bass and then feed her seagull friends what she caught! We also spent a day at Canada's Wonderland! when john was little he always wanted to go, and our Cedar Point passes include membership and parking to Wonderland. it was fun and a nice little excursion for something different. it's smaller than cedar point, but had some unique rides that were fun including roller coasters thru a fake mountain in the middle of the park (spiraling thru the dark) and a little roller coaster that zipped around making you feel like you were going to fall off the side! and they had several flipping rides that looked interesting and unique (alex doesn't care to go upside down so we didn't do those.) we caught some new pokemon while we were on vacation too. we had a lovely time, but missed our animals so it's nice to be home with them too :)
