Into the Woods

it was alex's first full week back at school and she had some assessment tests and lots of homework. she's getting back into the school and activity grind and her language arts assessment improved. she spent a lot of time this week going thru her money and wrapping coins to deposit into her savings and pulling out coins to put in her books. saturday, alex and i went to the theatre with sarah. we went out to eat before the show and alex ate almost two full specialty sushi rolls all by herself! haha, she loves sushi. then we went to the theatre where we were in the 2nd row (it was a 3 seat row so we had it all to ourselves off to the side.) i was a little worried about being so close, but it was the perfect show for it. it was a small cast where each performer had several roles as well as playing the instruments themselves. before the show even started one of the performers was talking to us and asked alex who she thought he was playing: after her first guess was wrong, she guessed the cow. so when he came out as the cow he gave alex a smile - it was really nice. and then he talked to us again at intermission. bopey and norm and friends were there as well and bopey brought alex a dish of m&ms at intermission (haha, it kept alex awake for the rest of the show.) on sunday, after alex finished all her homework, she went over for a play date to her friend grace's house. this is the first friend where she could actually walk over to their house - which will be nice once it's warmer out.
