labor day weekend
another week of school is in the books and alex did great with her new bus route. alex didn't have school on friday either so she went to work with john. at his school, it was wonder day! which is a day meant for trying new things. alex got to try all kinds of stuff like rolling in those inflatable balls and eating yummy food and she went roller skating. she had a great time at john's work. then we headed down to cincinnati that night. the rain was hitting there pretty hard on friday, but it was clearing up on saturday. the three of us went to kings island on saturday. it was perfect, because it was cold and drizzly so the park was practically empty and there were no lines on the rides. we got to the ride the new coaster 6 times and other coasters a ton. alex got some more pressed pennies for her collection and she and i went up in the eiffel tower (it's a third the size of the real one - highest point in the park.) so with our passes this year we were able to go to three different amusement parks - lots of fun. we hung out with grandpa jerry and uncle john that night and went to the museum center the next day for the star wars costume exhibit. the museum center is under major construction so it wasn't as very pretty, but we were there for the special exhibit anyways. the "star wars: the power of costume" exhibit was great. there were storm troopers and lightsabers and han solo and chewie and c3p0, r2d2, bb8 plus boba fett and jenga fett. there was a ton of padma costumes and princess leia costumes. and at the end was a darth vader (the prequel one, not the original trilogy one) and a yoda. plus for a bonus was a star wars toy display which was fun to see. alex and i took tons of pictures. then we headed back to cleveland. we got a lot of accomplished on labor day: john made beer and pickles and alex vacuumed and baked and i did my chores plus some sewing projects.
