alex has been enjoying the flute so far. they've learned to put their instruments together and their music stand. she's been practicing every night and now they have learned 3 notes! they don't sound like notes to me, but she'll get better. she's also studying a lot. she has math homework every night and geography and science to study. saturday, we went to mapleside farms. we hadn't been there in a while and it happened to work out that last minute john joined us as well with sarah and matthew and family. john has been working late every single night, but it was great that he was able to come to the pumpkin festival with us. it was superhero weekend, so there were characters in costume and alex wore her wonder woman shirt. we got there early so the lines weren't bad for the slide yet and we got to ride several times. that hill walking back up to the top is tough. then john had to head to homecoming and alex started building a "carnival show" with all her stuff and a giant box in the middle of the living room! and we fit in a little bit of crafting on sunday while cooking and cleaning.
