the fifth grade band couldn't find a good date for their winter recital so instead they had open houses. so, thursday morning i went to watch the flautists have class. it was neat to see and they're pretty decent - especially considering they haven't been doing this very long. alex seems to still really enjoy the flute. we had a decent amount of snow here in cleveland all week, but school continued. alex had fun playing with lonnie in the backyard and building a wonderful snowman. saturday, we all went to fatheads to celebrate bopey's birthday. we haven't been there in a long time - john and alex's picture is still hanging up there. sunday, the three of us went to star wars! yay. alex and i dressed as rey - without all the gear and belts and holsters. there were parts of the movie i didn't like much and parts that i loved. overall, we all really enjoyed the movie. the creatures are great and there were some amazing battle scenes. alex and i go again this week to see it in 3D.
