christmas vacation

we had a lot going on during christmas vacation. we started off with alex and i going to see star wars for the second time; this time in 3D. on friday, alex and i had playhouse tickets for on your feet. there wasn't a lot of people there and friday afternoon isn't our normal playhouse day. it was a great musical and we really enjoyed it. grandpa jerry and uncle john came up that weekend to celebrate birthdays and christmas. alex got so many activities from them like crafts and legos and such. and grandpa jerry gave us a group gift of a nintendo switch. we got some games for it and now alex and john fight over time on the switch. christmas eve was at grandpa regan's this year. alex was funny getting right in the middle of the white elephant game and saying things like "go big or go home." she was entertaining everyone. christmas morning was at home. john got a fishing rod, i got a new record player, and alex got things like more legos and a droid builder. later that day we headed over to bopey and norm's for christmas with all of them and aunt lani. everything was kind of staggered this year since people had to fit in different families and all. we had a nice time. later that week, alex and i went to see the doctor who christmas special in the movie theater. doctor who never goes into the theater and never near us. this was the last episode for both peter capaldi (the doctor) and stephen moffat (the head writer/director) and a regeneration into the first female doctor. it was great since everyone in the theater was a doctor who fan and there were extras and interviews and everything. at the end of that week, the three of us went to kalahari indoor waterpark for the night. it's a huge waterpark with lots more slides and fun. we really enjoyed it and it was nice to do something different. then it was alex's birthday. unfortunately, i happened to be sick and stuck in bed for the entire day. she was a good sport about it and brought her presents upstairs so i could see your open them. she made her own cupcakes and frosted them and everything. then this past weekend, we had connor's birthday party on saturday and emmett's birthday party on sunday. it's a busy time of year for birthdas :) it's back to school now (even though alex had two days called for extreme cold) and she starts her gifted program. and winter lacrosse training starts this week. i'm sure i forgot a lot of stuff, but it's been busy
