labor day weekend

alex and i had such a fun, full girls' weekend. john was in canada closing up the cabin and prepping the other house to close as well. alex and i started the fun early by checking out the new swensons drive-thru on thursday night. it's one of those fast food places where they run out to your car to wait on you and serve your food on a tray that sits on your car window. they have a yummy veggie burger and delicious sides. we really enjoyed it and will definitely go again. saturday morning, we had a stand up paddle board (SUP) lesson. there was only four of us in the class which was great. we started out in rocky river and paddled our way to the lake and back. alex and i really enjoyed it and we both did quite well. one of the other girls fell off her board and they struggled a bit. but alex and i were solid and we can't wait to go out again. saturday evening, we went to see Star Wars: a New Hope with the Cleveland Orchestra. i haven't been to blossom in ages and alex has never been. of course we dressed up as r2d2 and princess leia and brought lots of snacks. it was such an impressive show and it was really fun to see that movie on a movie theater screen too. as we were leaving there were fireworks too. on sunday, alex and i went out to cedar point's water park, cedar shores. we haven't been in two years and they did update part of the park. there were so many people there and it was boiling hot. we enjoyed a few slides and the lazy river then had lunch, a beer and ice cream before we headed off to the lake and beach. we've never walked over there before, it was really neat. we will definitely plan to visit that beach more often.
