alex had her first gymnastics class on saturday. she had to wear a leotard - isn't it cute, she seems to like it. the first picture is before we left the house to go to class. the second picture is alex jumping on the trampoline! she was really shy at her first class, but got a little braver towards the end - i'm sure she'll get more comfortable with each class. overall she did very well, she was pretty good about waiting her turn (except when she was waiting to use the trampoline, i had to really hold her back to keep her from climbing on). she seems to like the beam and the trampoline the best. the class is set up so that i can do everything with her if she wants, which of course i did (except again i did not get on the trampoline with her and she loved that) - she is the second youngest kid in class right now, so i'd say she did great. plus it got her practicing some skills - at home she was practicing jumping and running and freeze, and she even practiced a couple sommer saults. between swimming and gymnastics, and of course the fact that she'll eventually play soccer - we're going to have quite an athlete here.
