well, friday morning when we were getting ready for the day alex decided to start counting. she counted, by herself, all the way up to 7 (she knows to 10, but hasn't done it by herself). so then, i spent the rest of the weekend trying to tape it. of course, i could not get her to count to 7 again, but i did capture her counting to 6 - so watch the video. it's a short clip (the dog keeps distracting her), but what a genius she is counting already :)
some other notables: we have a little carb queen on our hands here - what a surprise considering all my favorite foods are carbs. but now alex is always saying "more cereal mommy." she wants cereal all the time now, for snacks and breakfast, and she'd probably have it for lunch and dinner too if i let her.
alex had her first fast food kids meal on friday night - she had chicken nuggets, fries and chocolate milk from burger king. she, of course, loved it. chowed the french fries and the chocolate milk (anything chocolate is good news for her) and then finally she chowed down on the chicken. i'd have to say that her first kids meal was a hit :)
alex is really good about pronouncing her words - at least i know what she means. but she is having a little trouble with the word foot - it ends up sounding like f&$@k!! and if you try to correct her she just gets louder because she in fact is pronouncing it correctly and you're wrong. anyways, i was running errands with her on friday - we were in target - and she had to start telling me at the top of her lungs about her "foot" which of course sounded like the f word, over and over again. all i could do is laugh - the poor thing doesn't understand she's being obscene.
